I'm posting this via iPod so I'm going to keep this short and simple. Also please excuse any misspelled words or typos :)

I am buying a water temp gauge for my n/a because I got a really good deal on it and my engine is growing older so I want to keep a better eye on it so she doesn't blow up. The guy said that all the mounting harware comes with it but I also want to know what I need to look for in the kit to make sure this dude is giving me everything minus the pod of course.

I need to know where to mount it. And how to mount it what is the best place to tap? (by mount it I mean how do I install the sensors in my engine)

The best place to mount it would be in the crossover pipe under the intake manifold, drill and tap a hole in it. You'll need to take off your intake mani, get new gaskets, and probably get some new orings for the crossover.

the upper radiator hose would be so much easier, just get a tubing splice with a hold for the sensor.

Its probably gonna be as innacurate as the stock one. Good luck.

Damn near any aftermarket gauge is going to be more useful than the stock gauge, which seems to have a "dead zone." OEM's seem to do this so people don't freak out when they see flutuations in their coolant temp.

And Eric is right, the best place to put it is in the crossover pipe.

    That's ERIK!!!!

And the best place would be in the block itself, but that's even more work than tapping the crossover pipe. The sensor that it should come with, should be 1/8 NPT thread. If you have 2 seperate senders in your cross pipe, you may be able to undo one of them and replace it with your new gauge sender. Your temp gauge in your car would no longer work, but you would have an accurate gauge in place of it. You can't do that with a single sender setup though, cause it sends feed to the ECM for fan control and gauge reading.

so all i would have to do is unscrew my stock sender and plug in my new one?

also going on that prosport gauges website, where would i tap that at? i know theres alot of hoses in my engine bay but which coolant hose is best.

that seems like the most logical way, because i wanted to try and keep the price relatively down and the install as easy as possible mainly because i dont have alot of time working 6 days a week. i dont need this gauge to be spot on 100% accuarate i just need it to be accurate enough to tell me if something is terribly wrong with my car.

is there a place that makes those hose T sender things locally? like a checker or autozone or ace hardware? maybe MAPeformace or grimmspeed? so i dont have to wait for shipping and all that jazz
