I am looking for a reputable place to have this done. Yes, I searched already, but the latest post on the subject was a year old, and I really don't feel like going all the way to chaska.

I have mad hairline scratches and swirl marks (don't ask :emo:), so it needs lots of orbital buffing followed by gobs of wax (to fight the evil salt-monsters), and I don't have patience, a buffer, or a warm place.

Found tons of "detail" places right in minneapolis, I was just wondering who has worked with any. I just don't wanna end up at some ghetto place that does a half-arse job.

    Thanks,
    Matt

wax isn't the key. polishing is. If you go to www.autopia.org you can find a local person on there that does great detailing. I know bob and steves autoworld has a good detailer working there.

I've had better luck with Paradise in Bloomington than the Mr. Car Wash in Roseville. But I haven't had either do a polish, just interior detail & exterior wash.

Gotta say, when we were getting ready to sell my wife's old Volvo, Paradise made it look and feel like a brand new car inside.

I think it boils down to the individual(s) working on your car more than the shop to a large extent.

There are several people on MNSC that do their own detailing and do an excellent job for cheaper than the big guys. Head over to MNSC and do a search about detailing. Stickiestoftheickiest over there does a great job and is cheap, has his own tools and will come to you, send him a PM.

They are a dealership, but I know the guy who does their detailing, and he does great work. *Ask if Jordan is still detailing. All I know is that if he is still working there, the money you spend is worth it. Keep in mind the shop does have to cover a bit of overhead so that factors into their price, but you might be able to poke around the car lot, take a test drive in a mercedes, bmw, audi, hang out in their really nice lounge (TV, mags, comfy couch), talk to the sales staff, (all great guys.)
