dont you have an STI? i thought thats what i read before... if you do, scotty's wont work for you... if you have a WRX by all means go for it. it wont hurt by anymeans. and as far as premature change... the harder you are on the fluids the faster they will break down... frequent matinence is always better IMO

Just a little heads up. The reason your car is faster with the aem is because it is running leaner. Alot leaner. Going to blow up leaner. What are your afr's?? what are your egt's??

And curly has to spell things out for teh n00b. Again, this is a case where doing a little research would have made you not look like a total jackass. With minimal searching you can know that Uncle Scotty's is for the weaker WRX transmissions as a "magic fix". Tux, your STi transmission is different and doesn't get the same benefits, if any at all. I think changing the fluid would still be a good idea, as I'm certain that the tranny is begging for it by this point. The point someone made about using NASIOC is very good too, as it is a larger forum you will find more topics covered in greater details on there. Do some homework, don't do drugs.

How the hell can a 200hp RSX type-S with I/H/E (ok, so now it makes 215hp lol) beat a stock STi?!?!

I would throw out the "well maybe you got better at driving" but that is usually a load of crap as even a caveman can stomp on the gas pedal (no offense to the cavemen on here).

Afterfires are caused by rich conditions not lean conditions. And why don't you do some research before slapping parts all over your car? There is a wealth of knowledge that you don't even have to make new idiotic threads to recieve. Hell, if you had read the First Mods for Newbies thread, you would have known right off the bat that AEM intakes are far and away the worst first mod for your car.

Here's a quick lesson in basic english.

Please watch the attached video. Are the noises that my car is making normal, or are they a sign of problems?

    ^^
    that is a question.

    Strange tranny noise in STi
    www.youtube.com

^^ Not a question. Not even a sentance. Complete lack of complete thought. NO verbs, NO question mark, no description of what sort of information you are trying to obtain.

I suppose it was wrong for me to expect you to READ, SEARCH and or just plain LOOK for information before asking questions. I apologize. I imagine you to be like a pinball. You probably walk around smacking your face into things like walls and doors because nobody was there to go "LOOK RIGHT THERE, IDIOT, YOU'RE ABOUT TO SMACK YOUR FACE ON THAT DOOR!!!"

I guess we have a duty to bridge the gap from Stupidville to Smartland for everyone. It wasn't a written duty or explained in the Internets Contract, but now I know my role.

So, since you are too stupid to READ, SEARCH or LOOK for information that pertains to your "question" (in quotes because you fail at actually typing out actual questions) I will go ahead and throw the information right into your face since that is the only way you can interact and observe the world around you. We are the world's teat, and you are its babe. Suckle away, moron. Suckle away.

Here is the NEWBIE QUESTION AND ANSWER FORUM THAT IS LOCATED RIGHT ON THE FRONT ****ING FORUM PAGE THAT YOU COMPLETELY OVERLOOKED OR JUST PLAIN DIDN'T BOTHER LOOKING FOR

And since I can't hold your hand and point the mouse at the above link and click it for you, I'll go ahead and show you visually where it is on the forum main page since I'm sure you respond better to pictures and colors than you do to coherent thoughts and verbal explainations....

It isn't typing smack. You've completely ignored any and all advice to the contrary of what you ended up doing. You completely ignored the fact that we have a Newbie FAQ forum. And you don't even bother trying to make a coherent thought when you post your new threads. Here's a thought, the next time you make a new thread, before you hit submit. Read it back to yourself. Imagine yourself as one of us reading your posts and then ask yourself "WTF did I just say?" Because that is what we all ask ourselves when we read your threads. You come in here and tell us that we are flaming you because you didn't do any research, then you spout off about how "there isn't NOOB forum for having good NOOB stuff for reading me" or whatever....IT'S RIGHT ON THE FRONT FORUM PAGE! You can call it flaming, I call it behavior modification. You need to learn to use Search, learn to LOOK before you post new threads. People get tired of rehashing all the same dumb stuff over and over...especially when it is POSTED RIGHT ON THE MAIN FORUM PAGE FOR EVERYONE TO VIEW. So go ahead, keep thinking you're the victim here. Hopefully you do more research and learn as much as you can about your car and one day realize that WE were all the victims of your threads.

This is the perfect thing to come back to after the rally, you can't make this kind of comic relief up. Where to begin?

I think I'd feel a lot better if you were running around in a Kia, probably safer for all involved. The only thing you "proved" is that you can't drive, but we've had that figured out for a while. I bet we could all tell you what's wrong. Perhaps if you'd actually take a second to look at those test results, or DO A SEARCH you might realize that the "performance parts" you've been putting on your car suck. As in blow up the motor suck. But hey, you're too busy posting about odd noises you think your car is making and asking if the warranty is going to cover it.

Maybe it wasn't afterfiring because it was running lean? Nah, that couldn't be it...That'd make sense.

    And the end-of-round score is...

    MNSubaru - 516,933

Tux - 0.5 --> T3h half point is gained by him actually saying "afterfire" and not backfire.
