So I got out of my 06 sti today and there was a high pitch whistle coming from a small black box thing that is mounted to the vertical support right behind the Subaru emblem in the front grill. Anybody have any idea why it is making that sound and/or what the box does. Is the box what makes the "beep" when I lock and unlock my doors? There are two wires running to it, I forget what color wires they are. I am guess it could be making the sound because something got wet but the plug that goes in it has a gasket on it.
That is your Keyless buzzer. They do that often enough. Time to replace it, or just unhook it. It's what beeps when you lock/unlock your doors.
