I am looking at maybe getting a wire feed welder with shielding gas. What do you guys recommend? That is not too expensive.

I have a Hobart and it's worked well for me. Easy to use too.

I have a Hobart 110. Its not too expensive and works great. Go to toll welding and you can try them out.

I'll second the Craftsman, but Lincoln makes some reliable welders also.

I have a Lincoln, as does 3rik's dad.

the question isnt so much the welder's ability for a general welder but the person's ability...

we need to know this...and how thick of metal do you plan to weld. Size does matter...

If I was to make a bike it would not be a chopper. I am starting to think I might just rent one from Toll in St. Paul. I need it for some work on a car. I am not sure how thick the metal is going to be.
