I found that one of the bolts (that holds the wastegate plate to the turbo) has ripped out of the turbo housing. No leak in the turbo though. Does anybody have a welder that would be willing to "glue" the thing back to the housing? I would really like to not have to remove the turbo, but I can if necessary. A c-clamp is holding it in place for now. It's the bolt that's on the top side and is more easily accessible.

And in other news, for those of you that read the thread on my AFR problems, the AFRs are now back in line. Bad gas...bad gods...? Either ways, it's good now.

    Thanks.

You can't weld steel to Aluminum. Time for a helicoil.

Is the turbo housing made from Aluminum? The little nipple that extrudes from the housing is still intact? Can't that be reattached? Or can another blob be built up and tapped?

A friend of mine does it for a living if you can pull the turbo off I am sure he would be able to get it done the same day at his house or maybe a day down time if he had to do it at work. he is cheap too. PM sent with my details.
