I got rid of the Saabaru today. I am now the proud owner of a Saab 9-3 with Launch package (sport suspension, 17in wheels, AERO body kit, Bi-Xenon headlights, automatic climate control, five speed) it's slate gray with gray/black leather interior.

I just couldn't do the interior in the 9-2x. I don't like that when it get's cold I couldn't shift the car in and out of gear. Saab said that if I changed the tranny oil to a different weight they would void my warranty.

Only dissapointment is the car is wrong wheel drive. :(

I WILL get a REAL Subaru again one day but I couldn't get a good trade in at any Subaru dealerships on a WRX. Let's put it this way, I got cash back switching to the 9-3, AND I paid about $400 out of pocket to drive the car for the last 8 months due to all of the rebates when I bought it.

SO somethings will be for sale, Whiteline rear strut tower brace (quick release), WRX wagon rail deletes and 17in BRAND NEW NEVER MOUNTED BBS RKs with your choice of Saab or BBS centercaps $585 gets them delivered to your house/work, I paid $650 including shipping and then paid $60 for BBS center caps. Anyways these will be posted in for sale soon.

I would still love to hang out with you guys...possibly come to an ice race next year. And I still need to mail you a DVD of pictures, sorry Martin.

I am definetly going to miss the AWD, but damn, the feel of the turbo again makes me happy.

I am going to have to get some snow tires or something...because these BFGoodrich g-Force TA KDW2's are ridiculous!

thats not the aero body, its the arc body, and its steel gray! wtf were the guys at the dealer telling you?? i'll bet they told you it has like 250 hp, when the most it could have is 210, but its most likely the 175 hp one with the ground effects painted thats only 10 more HP then your n/a 2.5 in your 9-2X!!!. you'll miss your saabaru, reliability on these things are terrible, i know i work at morries saab. i like 9-3s alot, and saabs in general, but it wont take long till you are sick of it (its 75% GM as well its the saturn platform, same as L200 and has the same 2.0 that cobalts have) im not trying to sound like a dick, im dissapointed

Yep its the 175hp. Like I said it is the Launch Package--so every option of the Vector, which became the Aero. The dealer didn't tell me anything about the car, it's all stuff I looked up on Saabnet, talking with current owners, etc. I drove Saab's for five years, I am aware of problems with the 9-3. Here's hoping things will be fine.

As for the 9-2x, don't be dissapointed. It was a piece of sh!t. I despised the interior, hated the seats, the car would randomly rev to 4,000 rpm when I idled and pushed the clutch in. Damn thing kept "freezing" in gear. I loved the AWD. Missed the Turbo though. Had Morries been able to get me into a 06 WRX Wagon or even a used 05/06 used for a good deal then I would have done it. But they wouldn't budge on price or offer me more on the trade. I got $3k more for my trade in then they offered.

Like I said, one day I will be back in a REAL Subaru--likely a Legacy GT

I always appreciated your clever license plate. Just curious, are ya keeping it for the 9-3 or are ya doing something else?

As in physically tore it up?

Or as in I OWNED the track tore it up. ;)
However, I did split the bumper cover...it was dark during my trade in appraisal so they didn't see the wound. Nor the door dings from my apt. complex.

Rich's place was soooo much fun. You guys are a great group of people. I can't believe how much I learned from you guys.

Mark my words! I will be back in a Subaru--no questions asked, but it will likely be a Legacy--as I like the fit and finish a bit better than the Saabaru's.

The seats do suck. Way worse than standard Subaru seats. The cloth is abrasive. And yes, the d*mn thing won't go into first when it is cold out.

The 9-3 has a way better interior. Still, I bought it because I wanted a WRX for less. Like 20k OTD.

Hey Tohper, I hate to say it the 9-2x was really a 2.5i Impreza with heated seats. You can get a brand new Impreza now for just under $18k that is why you couldn't get the trade in you wanted...That was how the Subaru dealers looked at your car, as a Impreza 2.5i. Good luck with your new 9-3...

Amen to that, I was looking real hard at the 92x aero before I got my Legacy. The interior and the extra power sold me on the Leggy though. You should have looked for a leftover 05 GT. I picked up my non-limited wagon GT back in Aug. for $23k +ttl.

HAHAHA! Yeah I know. Actually, when I bought the car they told me straight up somethings that needed fixed. Radio, heated seats, warranty re-call on the key fobs, and I had them install and program the aux in for my iPod.

So you know Jamie I take it? He is my service writer at Morries. Awesome guy. Of all of the Saab dealerships I have been to, he is the most helpful...and when he calls me and tells me it is going to be a week rather than the day I was orginally quoted, I am usually able to keep it in stride.

So here is the deal, I bought the car Wed. night, took it to the Morries Thursday night and it has been there since. Boo!

Thanks for rounding up people for Firestone. I appreciate it.

    Cheers

    Chris
