PRESS RELEASE Based on the Corvette Z06, this new GTR also represents a collaboration between Specter Werkes and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, with a Lingenfelter twin-turbo system powering the car – and pumping its 7.0-liter LS7 engine to 800 horsepower. "Specter GTRs have been featured at SEMA for many years and we're excited to debut the most unique example to date at this year's show," said Jeff Nowicki, president of Specter Werkes/Sports. "From the BASF pearl paint and HRE carbon wheels, to the Lingenfelter engine, there's never been a GTR like this one and we think it will resonate with sports car enthusiasts of all stripes." but i thought when Lingenfelter got involved the hp got into the 4 digits..800 for a Lingenfelter seems kinda low..lol that doesn't seem right saying 800 is low..
I would expect more from those guys, but the LS7 stretches the limit of the cylinder walls as is. Sleeve it and game on.
I think that: one: the exhaust tips look more like function than form, maybe they're designed that way for a purpose. two: 800 hp is lots, maybe this one has a much more useable powerband than L's usually 1xxx hp cars. three: remember that this is both specter works and Lingenfelter, so the car is probably a L motor setup to specters specification to preform, not brag
I wonder if you can still push the back bumper in and out. I remember on top gear Jeremy was literally poking fun at the corvette for using fiberglass.
A pair of 40R's on a 7 liter motor would be an extremely usable powerband, and 1200-1400hp. Tires are another story, lol.
