So I just noticed this after I bought the car.. Did they just wait too long to replace the pads?

Do I just have to buy everything new.. would that be the best way to go?

    Replace rotors & pads.

Thats what happened to my Odyssey but way worse. On my van I can see the rotor's surface have BUMPS.

ha okay that was what I thought I should do... But the only thing that was really weird is that it looks like that on only one brake. All the others look perfect..

That means pads are not really moving in the brackets.
    Causes:
Seized caliper pins: slide off caliper, re-grease the slider pin, and possibly enlarge the hole in the caliper with a file. The rust can build up there and make the hole tighter, which causes stuck caliper pins.

Rusted pad brackets - get new ones.

Rusted caliper bracket - use the file or get newer ones.

Basically when installing the pads make sure they can move around.
