1995 Impreza Coupe (GM) FWD 1.8 Impreza L with drum brakes in rear. It is all stock except for the exhaust. has a catback. I have put new struts on the rear, KYB GR 2's
I bought the car with Proline Alloy 16" Rims in TX . I put the 14" steelies on and drove home. I am now wanting to put the 16" Proline Alloys back on. These Proline Alloys have several markings on the inside spokes.

I believe the 40 H refers to the offset, and if 40 is the offset am I doing harm to the vehicle by running these wheels. The tires on the wheels are 205 40 16. Love the car and do not want to injure it!

40mm is a lil low but may work. You may need to roll the rear fenders a tad depending on ride height. The other issues that may arise a couple years from now could be wheel bearings. Pushing the wheels out (lower offset) can be harder on your bearings. Bolt one on the rear and set it down and see if they will rub under normal suspension travel.(not likely due to smaller tire size) Also take into consideration, pulling in and out of drive ways and things of that nature. Also your tire size is a little small. You should have a 205/50/16.

Thank you! I was afraid that the wheel bearings would be a problem. But since my good friend has a hydraulic press I shouldn't have to worry too much lol. I see that there are two sizes of tires on these rims, 205 45 16 and 205 50 16. That should not present a problem as I am 2 WD, correct? The 45's are in better condotion so shopuld I have those in the front?
