I want these wheels. Only problem is would an 18x7.5 wheel fit my RS? It says it will, but it also says the 17x7 won't fit. So how can 18 fit and a 17 not? Suggestions? Thanks

    ummm

    offset?

the size isnt as important as the offset. I've had 17X7 on GD and GC chassis, no problems.

^^^^^ I agree...Make sure u have the right offset, I had a lot of problems on my GC when I had rims with a offset of +40, oh yeah they were 17x7...I don't know much about this issue all I know stick with somthing with an offset of +48...but I also don't know if the tires matter...????????

On the 18x7.5 offset is 45. Offset on 17x7 is 42. So I don't get why they say the 17s won't fit.

perhaps the 42 will put it too close to the strut. i heard that the ideal ofset for a gc was about +50. so a +48 (wrx sizes) will fit prety well. i just heard this so i dont know if any of its true.

42 is distance from centerline. if the offset is smaller, the distance from centerline is smaller therefore the wheel is pushed out further from the strut. 42 would put the wheel closer to the fender.

    rule of thumb

smaller number means sticks out further
bigger number means sucks in further

    just think opposite.
