I have these plastic wheel spacers that came with my wheels when I bought them. Just found them again when I was cleaning my garage.

I have NO experience using spacers. Wondering if they do any good AND are plastic spacers normal?

Wondering if I should try them or toss them out...

You should be using those. The wheels you have are not hubcentric. The Subaru wheels are hubcentric and require a hubcentric wheel or the use of said spacer in place to locate the wheel.

I use them on mine and have for over a year.... I run 19's.... they only center teh wheel they arent weight/load bearing so plastic is fine...

Hmm..well, I'll lube them up and throw them on the wheels. I haven't had any issues without them, but i guess it would be a good idea.

    thanks!!!

Would this cause the steering wheel to shake at higher speeds????

slight chance but I think that would be more to do with an out of balance wheel..... or a bad tire... or even a warped rotor, but my money would go more towards theout of balanced wheel

if i bought some 20 MM spacers for my car from eibach(to use with my stock wheels) would i run into any problems? im wondering because im sick of looking down the side of my car and seeing a half of an inch of fender sticking out in the rear.. i am planning on getting them for both the front and rear if that matters

    Mother of god...
    umm... don't.
Wheel spacers shouldn't be used as an asthetic thing, just as a tool for clearance... and even then, rarely.

20MM is just WAAAYYY too far to not expect premature wheel bearing failure.

Save up your money, get a nice cheap wheel/tire package.

yeah, you can do that, so long as you really like replacing wheel bearings.

It will cost you more in wheel bearing replacements than cheap wider wheels will cost.

ok reading over this I guess it isnt spacers he was talking about but the little things the center the rim which has been covered... but as Esperunit and SHane86 said...

DO NOT use spacers unless you wanna toast wheel bearings... think of it like this... hang a 20 pound weight from your shoulder and stretch your arm straight out.. no probs right as the wieght is close in too the body.. now move the same weight out to your wrist and see how long you can last with the extra leverage placed on your shoulder....

your shoulder represents the bearing.... OUCH = premature wear adn tear...
