Hey guys, I searched and really didnt come across much that answered my question. What is the most rubber I can fit under an 07 WRX sedan without needing to run a lower offset or spacers or any of that jazz to prevent rubbing? From what I can tell going any wider than 17 X 8 is probably going to require something along these lines. I am pretty much a newb when it comes to things of this nature so go easy on me.
Well, first off, max tire size that will fit depends on strongly on wheel offset. In addition, even tire size does not specifically tell you the whole story, as tread width often differs a lot between different tires. However: if you have a sedan with 17x8" rims with normal Subaru offset (48-53), you could certainly fit 225/45/17's without any problems, and could probably even fit as large as 245/40/17's without rolling the fenders (although you might have to lower the offset on the wheels to get these to fit). Honestly, 225/45/17's or 235/40/17's are what I would suggest for a DD.
That was my question, keeping normal Subaru offset's what is the max I could do. Thank you! Do you think I could go much wider than 17x8's?
The stock wheels have a very high offset (+55). What wheels are you looking at that have that high of an offset? If you get some 17x8's, I'd suggest somewhere in the 48-53 range. I also added a size recommendation to my previous post .
I was looking at some 17x8 Rota Boost's with a +48 offset. I am honestly just looking to fill out the fenders without rubbing or needing to roll them.
When I said keeping normal Subaru offsets I meant the 48-53 range which is what the majority of people run without issue.
235/40/17, or 245/40/17 if you are feeling lucky. Actual tread size really depends on the specific tread pattern of the tire you choose .
