Where's my VSS wire?

Ok, so I installed by AVIC D3 a while back but cut corners on the install, namely wiring up the leads for my VSS, reverse sensor in parking brake.

The former is the one I'm most concerned about as not having it on significantly limits the functionality of the GPS/NAV.

I've seen folks access their VSS by splicing into the harnesses leading to OE gauge pods. I don't have a gauge pod. So, where is the next best place to find and splice into this evasive beast known as the VSS?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sean

    not a car opinion

in EE, vss refers to the highest switch voltage in the system which for a car is any 12 v switched source

i could and very well could be WAY off though since this is definitely not EE class

btw, i didn't do the install by myself, i had help, so i can't specifically say where that wire was spliced into.

That is not standard in EE, either... We use Vcc, Vee, Vdd, etc. We would use 'Vss' for steady-state voltage, just as Vpp is peak-peak voltage.

Physics uses 'j' for current, while EE uses 'i'..... The list goes on and on. ;)

agreed i guess - at least each group of kids going through classes come up with a standard so that we can use each other's homework...

Switch the two for imaginary numbers -- EE uses 'j' and physics use 'i'
