My mother used to teach art history. undergrad from rutgers, phd from princeton. Now she's a dean. She says art historians are the only artists that can truely function in real life. But, like you, it took years to find the appropriate venue for her knowledge.

Another example of how, unless you get a phd, it's just very difficult to earn an honest living.

There are a lot of fields like that. Where you have to take it to the most extreme level for it to pay off.

It's kind of sad too because I have a true appreciation for art and creativity.

I think it's hard to convince the man that a piece of paper that has the word art anywhere near it doesn't mean you're incapable of doing anything pretty much anyone else can do.

Thanks for the input Zak. I was kind of thinking along those lines. I hope she can find a decent job with her art hist degree. atleast something enjoyable.

Bummpy: are you enjoying those free MBA meals that they always have at carlson?

heh, yeah... sometimes it's such a joke.

I don't think I've even come close to tapping into that yet, there's always some seminar or keynote speaker or whatever. I just never have the time with work and all.

    Check this out:

They have one of these craps like once a week!
