Some bastard is trying to steal my Dad's '98 Legacy Outback. This is the SECOND TIME. It's SOMEONE who smokes and they have a key. The outback has a keyless entry with factory Subaru alarm. Bastard unlocks doors and opens it. Alarms sets off and they run for their lives before I come out and get in the car and run them over. This morning right about 9am, the bastard tries it again. Who ever the funk it is....I'mma run them over given the chance and take back my key. They did NOT get it unlocked by going through the window. The snow that sits on the window is not touched at all, bastard gots a key or some sort. What the funk do they want? They want the '98 heads? They want the MOTOR? They want the brakes? They want the 4.444FD rear diff? They want the NEWER style steering wheel? They want my Optima Battery? Or do they just want the stero that we have in there...some cheap Sony CD player? Because BOTH times this happened in the morning before I'm was going to work. Makes me don't want to park my car on the street when the project is done. Bastards.....
Sorry to hear that Fuji...I wonder if u could make something that shocks them when they try to hold the car handle?
Oh and time for a remote kill switch, though you may want someone else to do it for you, seeing how well you do on wiring jobs or it may be months before it runs again.
I dunno man.....might have to setup cameras or something. I'm thinking about making a police report...but.... because the car isn't BROKEN into, it can't be used as a valid report of being "stolen." Because they can say it's fraud because there's no damage. I might have to do a kill switch if I have to for my car.
I can see right outside my window. If it weren't for the houses, I'd see people race off that stop light on Uni. haha. right now my car is in the garage. But then it's the poor Outback that's out there.
of all the cars why would they break in the Outback?...Actually they are easily broken into without the key...basically if you can crack open a little bit of the window and use a coat hang and press down on the unlock button or switch u can unlock it easily...good thing u have an alarm..
yes.....factory Subaru alarm..... SO....... should I get an alarm now too? I don't know how it's going to work with the swap......wiring stuff....you know. What alarms should I go on getting? My brother has a Viper with the little cell phone look-a-like thingy on the key chain. I think that's the Viper.....
I know what they are looking for. It's called a shallow grave. Yes, those things are illegal but they do wonders.
dude...what did i tell you...i bet i know who it is already and you probably do too...so...just set up your game bow and when they open the door...plooop! the arrow hits them and then they run like deers! lol..jk...or...just get new key holes...from upull!.... dao
The only thing I can guess y they would try to break in your Outback... 1. It writes "Outback" but they think it reads "Out-House" 2. Testing your Nerves 3. Think Fuji is a fine Asian *Hotness* Azz and wants to see u run out of the house in your flip flops and see through white hanes T-Shirt. 4. Lil AWD trying to steal your springs 5. Or that your Alarm is just way to sensitive and your just plain delusional
fuji, It has to be someone you know. I think it might be tony's homies. LOL. I mean, I see tons of those outbacks over by central HS, why dont they stop over there? BTW, I got an OBS and its been hit on once, thats just because I got a deck in there and forgot the face. Either way, they'll be stupid to come back a "3rd" time... go buy a steering lock and lock it. See if that helps
gimme a quote on a new key/lock set would ya. driver door/pass door/ignition/rear door for '98 Legacy Outback
Whatever the insurance deductable is for your dad's Legacy, get an alarm for at least that much. At least it would be an investment that would save your family from time & money lost and insurance involvement. You could also try using a "Club" that locks the steering wheel.
TIGERBITE HMONG KIDS!!!! Thats gotta suck. I know how you feel, my younger bros civic gots stolen out of the garage. I just wanna arrrghhhhh. But all said and done. +++1 on Full coverage insurance. Yes like AwdimprezaL said just put on a new lock set from the dealership. It shouldn't be the same key as the stock one that came with the vehicle.
Can you switch the locks on your impreza and your dad's outback? When you get your car running you can buy new locks if they figure out that you swapped them from your car, or maybe you'll know who was doing it by then...
oo...!!! i know wha tyou should do...since we all do summer and winter fishing....turn off the alarm in the morning and set all your hooks inside the seats with the barbs facing down painted black...who ever is stealing it wont know...then i'll park near by then when he takes it...and tries to run...the hooks will hook him down..and he wont be able to run away...or make yourself a DIY tazer gun with fish hooks and connect it to the car battery...lol....
Do you have one of those animal quick snapshot camera's you can mount somewhere secure and discrete. I use to have this problem too. This might be a good alternative as proof. At least than you can give him something to think about at his place. LOL JK
