Hey guys, im looking at a set of 17x9 rims for my 06 WRX. One set has a 42mm offset and the other set has a 25mm offset. Im running stock brakes and I do have my rear fenders rolled. I know those 25mm offset wheels will work for strut/shock clearance, but wondering if they will be right under my fender. I wanna use them for auto-x and I dont wanna wreck a tire or a fender when the car has its body roll. I dont wanna pull fenders or put on any dumb looking fender flares just to run a set of wheels. Any good input would help me tons. Or if anyone has a set they would be interested in selling I would be interested in that too. I would rather go the used route so I can try them on the car to make sure I have no issues. Thanks!

It's going to depend entirely on the tire you are running.

I want to be able to run the 255/40 RS-3 Hankook. Tread width is 10" for that tire.

Fenders are rolled. I know they 42mm offset will fit. Just not a for sure on if they will clear my brakes.

Why would they not clear? 25mm is huge. They'll be sticking out of your fender I bet by an inch.

Yeah I have counted out the 25mm because I don't want them sticking out an inch. I run the stock 06 wrx brakes.

Not sure, but I would imagine you'd be just fine. I ran 18x7.5 wheels with a +40 offset with 6 piston wilwoods up front without clearance issues.

A +25 offset will move the center of the wheel back towards the hub, reducing space for calipers.

This is one of those situations where, until you have the tires on the wheels and the wheels in hand to test fit, there is no way of determining if they'd fit. For Auto-X there are many proven setups that don't require odd fitments and staggered offsets to achive good grip. You may want to stick with what works. A nice cheap set of Rota 17x9 wheels with the proper offset and you'd probably have no issues with fitment.
