So coming home i was stopping at a stop sign and slid straight through in the curb on the otherside. my driver side front tire hit the curb. After getting it home and inspecting the damage i had found that i bend the tie rod end, sway bar and lower control arm. since its sunday and i'm freaking out what you guys think this is gonna cost me?

Ouch, if you can be with out the car for a bit longer, I am sure you can pick up some used parts especially the sway bar parts.

No bueno. If you are honestly looking for a #...i think a ballpark would be around $500. If you have some time that you could outsource parts, maybe less. But if you have to pay someone because you can't do it yourself, labor costs are expensive. We've had a handful of casualties today with the weather. Sorry that it happened man!

    What year is your WRX?

Right on. Well that's no good. Assuming that you only broke the three things listed, it's going to be tough to find all of those parts in stock i would think. And then you have labor time, if you do it yourself, the labor time and cost would be substantially quicker/cheaper. Insurance may be the best option tho. Grab a rental?

Yeah I'm gonna get it dropped off tomorrow. The problem is I don't think they'll hand me a loaner since I'm only 20. And my insurance is 500 decutible so depending on how much its gonna cost.

Well get a quote. My guess, if the shop is doing the work, is that it'll be around $1000-1200. Where are you planning on taking it?

white bear subaru is the closest to me. If its gonna run me that I'm really hoping insurrance covers it...luckily I do have towing. Not really the time of year I'm looking to lying down that much cash. If insurance covers it I'm think blizzaks might have to be budgeted in.

Thanks. It will be needed. I'm really hoping that's all it is. And I'm hoping that they aren't swamped. Being with out a car is very difficult

No report needed. However if you can afford it pay it out of pocket. Sometimes shops will give you a better rate. It will hit your record as an at-fault accident, once your renewal comes up your going to be paying more than the $900 that insurance will pay you. Just my advice

Depending on how flexible you are, it might be more cost effective to get a rental (maybe have your parents' sign for you and authorize you as a driver?) and then source the parts and fix it yourself. Or, if you can source the parts, Jeff the Alignment guy does good work for very reasonable prices.

I know it sucks man, and hopefully you're back on the road soon! Snow tires will not solve all of your problems, but they will help significantly...esp if you're still rocking the stock summer tires :coffee:

Its all completely covered. Insurance is taking care of it. The only down side is they have to bring it to the body shop first now to get the body and frame looked at before they repair the supenssion. So I'm gonna be longer out without a car. Luckily I can car pool with my dad and only work 3 days this week.
