i want to put my oil pump on a ignition switch and need a wire by the fuse box in the engine bay. any help?
find any Ig. hot. doesnt matter what, its just gonna be used as a trigger. Get a 4 or 5 pin relay like this. and do this: 85- Ig hot wire you found 86- Ground 87- Strong 12v source (battery or main input to fuse box) 30- Output to Pump. BTW, dont pay over like 4/5bux for one of these relays
a test light or meter and like $.03 worth of ambition is all you need, get off the computer and start checking wires
id like to help you bro, but im kinda tied up bro. maybe you should learn to read a wiring diagram bro
cigarette lighter is not ign switched. it's acc switched. so on with the radio and off while cranking..... yours is an '04, right? I will check my FSMs. you're looking for something close to the in-car fuse box, right?
+1 You can get a cheap led (which means you will also have a polarity indication) continuity tester for probably less than I spend on my morning esspresso.
For a guy with a welding station not to have a $10 multimeter is kind of funny. Sorry I can't help, but I do have a meter...
The injector power is set up to run whenever the car is running. It will provide plenty of power to trigger the relay for pump.
