Hey, just curious what you all do to keep in shape. I'll be honest, it's been a bit harder this year to kick myself into high gear and work out. Typically i keep myself in shape for snowboarding and biking, but this last winter and so far this spring I've really slacked off. :(

Anyone have suggestions to kick your ass in gear?

damn, hope I'm not just getting old.;):eek4:

Well, I'm lucky and have a weight room and full gym at work. I lift 3x a week, and do the "bike" in the winter.

The fact that its at work makes it quite a bit easier to get done. I love the weights for the stress release, and the bike just makes me feel like less of a slob (especially in the winter, when it's impossible to get exercise outside).

    Work.

    ...?

Haha, I had a guy from a gym ask me how often I work out. I told him 5 days a week, 8 hours a day.

I have 17lbs of pure energy who loves to run... a lot! We take her on 3 mile runs and she still is ready for more.

The picture below is when she was a few months old...

Where do you work tangledupinblu? I wanna come work there. I hate my office job and my butt is beginning to look a little flat since I sit on it all day!

I'm getting back into working out, I always get really pumped to go running and lift weights in the spring. My motivation? In my mind I picture myself in a bikini at this very moment - would I feel comfortable?? HECK NO! So I jump back on the treadmill, lol.

Yeah you are lucky, I have to walk to the next building over.

I bike the 5-7 miles to work when it's nice out and lift 2-3 times a week. I also run up and down the hills over by the como fields and golf twice a week... my whiskey/dark beer consumption is usually a lot lower in the summer too.

Once winter rolls around I hibernate and try to put on a little more weight... go out to eat more, drink more, add a meal or two a day, etc... motivates me in the summer when my shorts don't fit

Nonsense. Smoking suppresses appetite... and quiting makes food taste better. ;)

I've been working out over my lunch hour every day. I started last november/december doing 20-30 min on the elliptical machine and then lifting, rotating the muscle groups throughout the week. I had been running about 3 mi. once it got nice out, but I just hurt my ankle this week, so now I'm swimming 1000 m a day.

I'm gonna try riding my bike to work if I can get up early enough in the morning (7 mi.).

Either way, I find that working out for lunch gives me a really good pick-me-up since I've got a boring quasi office job.

I have this at home. I need to get back on it. You can drop 10 lbs and about 1-2 inches in the waist in about 2-3 weeks of hittin it hard. Amazing program. If you go the whole 90 days, total transformation.

Interesting - my wife and I have been on the fence. The biggest issue I have is that we don't have room for a proper pull up rack and I'm too long to make it work right in doorways.

Sit on your rear and do the bands off a hook on the ceiling in the garage. Same effect. I just happened to have a pull up rack in the garage.

Sounds like something out of Pulp Fiction.

I've got weights, bands, Bosu, treadmill, etc. in the basement but don't want to be running out to the garage...isn't it all circuit-training style?

i really like to results when i do things, so when i work out i like to see results so i work hard at it, i go for about a mile run every other day just to warm up and than slowly do more, than i do about 400-500 crunches a day, do some curls and other misc. arm stuff since i have no gym to go to :/

I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.
