Ok so as some of you know I recently moved to Minnesota about a week ago. Well saying as i have been here for about a week it has come to my attention that people (not all) dont know how to drive!!! haha i couldnt imagine people from here living in a big city or even getting stuck in Rush Hour traffic.

The BUGS suck....im getting eaten alive, not really but this is more than i expected.:laugh: im sure ill get used to it sooner or later.

But a plus note to my ranting is that the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. and its nice having all these lakes....Also where are all you Subarus hiding....Ive seen 2 since ive been here...one 96-00 RS with the GOLD STOCKERS:biggrin: and a plain jane red 04-05 WRX...well i hope to see more

You come from dry land with no bugs, lol. Yes, there are plenty of bugs, but the skin birds (mosquitoes) vary by location and how close you are to swamps. When I lived on the Duluth hillside, there were none. Some places are crazy. 3M Ultrathon works extremely well.

I spent a summer in Missouri. You want to talk about bugs.....

If you think the drivers suck, go to Detroit. Or rural MN. Or even Mankato.

come down by me if you want to see some bad drivers. Some people just don't understand that 55 means 55 not 25, and that stop signs really do mean stop. And you never get used to the mosquitoes

The bugs havent really had a chance to get going yet wait a month. But as a bonus the winters kill them off so theres something for you to look forward too. One thing you might like is no cockroach's here. Those buggers still gross me out from my navy days and that was over 20yrs ago.

If you think the bugs are bad now, you are in for a rude awakening soon. They aren't even really out yet.

I believe the sun sets around 9-915 at it's peak during the summer. Wait until winter, it reverses itself. The daylight is about 8 hours in the dead of winter.

And you gotta come to the cities, especially if you wanna see subies. Theya re mostly hiding here. Come out for one of the meets sometime, too. You'll see a ton

Go far enough north and the sun doesn't set during the summer.

Daylight peaks around June 21-22. Birds chirping at 4:15 AM is quite annoying.

Back in college, I would use the birds to signal that it's time to stop drinking and (maybe) go to bed.

Yeah, if you are drunk enough you can sleep through anything. If you have a job that ends at 2:30, you have to work hard to get to that point at 4:15. Being close to Wisconsin helps.

corners i like, are there any spots where its just wide open dirt roads? i need to keep my driving skills above par haha...also cops are not bad up here at all!! ive seen one cop in 10 trips back and forth to Grand Rapids, so the cop is not an issue

I come up to the Brainerd area often. My mom's got a place in Pillager. Lots of nice roads for both Subaru's and bikes. As for dirt roads, I don't know of any just yet.

Mosquitos are a nuisance, but bug spray works wonders.

38 is fun, but I haven't ran it since they rebuilt it a few years ago. 49 after the split is fun too. Lots of fun stuff up there for street cars, and tons of logging roads for trucks too. I'm still pissed my grandfather sold his International Scout II.

dang i camped up at scenic state park which is down the road from you last year, and on a sunday afternoon after breaking my knife i attempted to make a run to the store in bigfork talk about ghost town. There was no one there all the stores were closed didn't see a soul. Had to drive back down to rapids but no complaints here the road is awesome.
