    I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend, and what style are you looking for?

    OEM? or Aftermarket?

    Personally, I bought an anarchy motive shift knob off one of the other members on this site and it practically shifts itself! Its very comfortable. Although it is sensitive to heat and cold is my only peeve about it.

    I have an OEM 2007 wrx leather 5 speed shift knob. Its in good condition. PM if you want it!

    I have one or two of the Anarchy Motive knobs in stock. They're very heavy and shift smoothly.

    +1 for the anarchy motive knobs! Agreed on the hot and cold sensitivity though.
    Would that really work?

    Don't see why not especially, and it would be cheap to try and removable if it doesn't work or you end up not liking it... There's lots of threads on the web about doing it, sounds like folks recommend 5-7 thin layers for durability.
