Want to buy a cold air intake system that DOES not go into the fender well. The current system I have, goes down into the rigth front fender and rests behind the fog light. rethinking that is not going to be ideal for winter driving........looking on ebay all the ones I have found go into the fender...... I do belive its a Short ram intake..?
Yes, it would be a short ram that you are talking about. I would not worry about it being there unless you don't have a fender liner.
I do have a fender liner BUT its a pain in the butt to get to the air filter to change it......thus wanting a short ram system......I need to raise the car peel back the fender liner and then take off filter. and my car, well its been around the block a few times.....
I had thought of moding the current one i have.......after all i could get the tig welder out and use it........yes!!!!! brilliant
hotter air > colder? for how often I guess I would check the filter it doesn't seem like it would be a huge deal
its a 2000 2.5rs. the thing is that I well check it by looking in and around the turn signal that is near it.......yea i SHOULD pull it out and clean it....maybe wedneasday.
Isnt there a coupler that connects the piping? (in or near the engine bay) Why wouldnt a filter @ that location work?
If it doesn't go into the fender well, then it isn't a cold air intake. Pulling from the engine bay means 20-40 degrees over ambient, or more.
