I need a battery tie down (including the hooks/rods) for my 02 WRX. The cheaper the better. OEM is fine. It doesn't have to be fancy or look nice at all, just has to hold my battery in place. Let me know if you have one laying around.

I was in the same predicament as you...ended up getting the
Super Start® - Battery Hold Down
    Part # 01409
    one from O'Reily: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...=Search_N0363_1269075_3253&pt=N0363&ppt=C0005
It's $5 and looks like an OEM type. I did have to use the hacksaw and cut some extra thread off the top of one of the J-hooks, but that was 2 minutes of work.

Thanks. I was actually looking at that exact one as my backup plan.

Had mine for almost a year now with no issues other than the bit of trimming on one of the J hooks (which can be expected of a universal product)

Our Outback always had an outgassing issue with the battery (charging system was checked by the dealer and pronounced good) that kept rotting the metal OEM hold down. I changed it to an aftermarket plastic one from the auto parts store and it worked very well...it adjusts in width in case you decide to use a battery that is different size from OEM...and it doesn't corrode.
