WTB BBS wheels

want to buy a set of old STI BBS wheels (5x114), don't care what color, don't really care what cosmetic condition they are in as long as there isn't any damage to the wheel. don't care if they have tires or not. i can find them for $500-$550 in good condition with tires pretty easily, so not looking to spend more than that max.

who gots my rallyX wheels??

I've got an ugly set on my car right now. Three silver, one gold, two are decent, two are banged up a bit, but all balance fine and hold air. Comes with equally mismatched tires. $400 or bo.

 

Just fyi mismatched tires on a AWD car is a bad idea.

 

In theory, yes. In practice, no. The sizes are all the same, brands are not.

 

two tires the same size but different brands in reality can be very different in size

 

silver-sti pm'd me asking for trade on my set of rims, offering gold bbs with some chips. Could try to contact and buy them and then they could buy my wheels/tires.

ps i like your cosmic blues as they are so unusal but theyre 5x114 and im not sure how they'd look on my yellow(subaru rally colors sort of).

 

Yup - 3 sets of wheels and 3 sets of tires. Prodrives on the car for summer with stock tires, need rallyX wheels to go with my Cooper rallyX tires (they're on Sheen's winter wheels right now), have stock wheels with Nokian RSi's for winter, then my Rotas which I would keep and run in the winter but they won't look good with teh vinyl, so they gots to go.

UGH TICKS. *shudder* luckily, i didn't find any, but i left my backpack and laptop bag sitting out in quarantine, just in case. I'm positive there is a family of them, living in my car, waiting to give me Lyme disease.

Kind of, but the overall rolling diameter is not enough to damage an AWD system or really make any difference. If they were that fragile, everybody would be replacing viscous couplers every time they drove on a low tire. Granted, I'm new to Scooby's, but I've been around the import scene for a long time and have owned over 100 AWD cars, I've never had a drivetrain problem due to mismatched tires.

I do love brand new quality tires though, I can't wait for my new set to arrive next week.

 

BTW, I'm by no means firm on my price if you're looking for some extra racing rims. If not, I'll just keep one for a spare.
