WTB: Beater Car

    All -

    Have a family member that suddenly is in need of a beater car to get by with.

    Prefer a Subaru with an Auto.

    Budget is REALLY low; under $2000, even better if under $1000.

    Must run and drive.

    Safety is a function of the condition of the car, the route you choose, and your propensity for risk.

    Assuming that if it runs and drives if will be moderately safe to drive...fingers crossed.

    Thanks to everyone for the help...We found an 87 GL Wagon for sale on this forum that worked out good...it's a beast but it runs and drives!!
