OK so it's not a car part, but does anyone have a cheap but decent laptop they'd be interested in selling, in the <$200-250 range? If so let me know the condition and specs!

I got a few extra laptops sitting around at home. I can take a look tonight and let you know what I got. What exactly are you looking for? Anything in particular regarding specs/OS/etc?

Thanks! Main thing is I don't want anything slow, that gets annoying fast. So maybe something like a Core 2 Duo or better (or equivalent AMD), 4GB RAM preferred. I don't care about HD size at all or optical drive. I've got a Win7 license and DVD so I don't really care what OS is on it either. I'd prefer it to be in at least pretty good physical shape. And that the battery is still good for a few hours at least, preferably.

I'm not 100% sure about the batteries but I'm pretty sure they meet the other specs. I'll shoot you a message tonight if I can :)

    DELL Inspiron 1545
    Pentium Dual Core 2.20GHz
    4 GB RAM // 250 GB HD // 15" screen // WIN 7
Missing the "Q" key, and both the "S" and "U" keys work but you have to press them a little harder than the others. This laptop was given to me by a family member that needed it cleaned up and then ended up buying a new one instead

    Toshiba E305-S1995
Intel Core i5 2.3 GHz (quad core)
    6 GB RAM // 500 GB hybrid HD // 14" screen // WIN 7
Blu-ray drive, USB3 port, and HDMI port
Nearly brand new condition, I bought this on black friday 2011 from Best Buy and was super happy with it but got a work laptop shortly after and use this one a couple times a year but don't need it.

I have two other laptops, one with a messed up screen (Compaq) and one that I don't seem to have a charger for (Toshiba), as well as 3 macbooks (one with a broken keyboard, one with a fried motherboard, and I don't remember what the problem is on the other). I used to fix peoples computers all the time and just ended up with a few sitting around that I don't have much time to play with anymore. I thought I had a few better options but this is what I got for now. Let me know if you're interested in anything, I won't be offended if you're not. :)

Thanks Mike, I appreciate you digging up that info! I like the price of that Dell, but I don't have much time for projects right now like sourcing replacement keys. The Toshiba sounds nice but is more than I'm looking to spend :) Maybe I'll see what @Nhibbs hears back and go from there!

I have a Dell Latitude D630, Core2 Duo t7700 2.4 Ghz, 2mb ram, cd burner/dvd reader, pretty new WD 500 GB drive (manufacture date Jan13), battery seems ok and has all the keys on the keyboard and everything - $125?

Eric, I know it is "I before E"
However, trying to tag retrief and retreif yield separate results :coffee:

    Take two @retreif

Maybe 10 minutes. Shape is rectangle. Actually it is in very good shape.

@mike4king - I collect laptop bricks and have several that were formerly attached to Toshibas.
