Check craigslist... the crazy bastards who waited in line at target since 6:30 for a stupid mix tape bought like 12 copies and are jacking the price on them. My dad wanted one, i drove by target at 7 and there were people in chairs and blankets in line almost .5 a mile long. F That
    Good luck Amy

    honestly, this is pretty ridiculous
if the cd is for a fundraiser and people WILL buy it for 80 to 100 then the store should sell it at that price so that money goes to charity

Believe me, I've never paid more than face value for one and wouldnt'.

But agree, its a shame the scalping doesn't go to the charities.

They've capped the purchase limit at 2 per person for the last few years. I was at West St Paul this morning at 7:30 and they had already sold out. My fiancee found two at Southdale on her way back to Maple Grove.

I was going to try and get out there earlier but I wasn't feeling all that great this morning. I usually hit the one in Brooklyn Park but I figured I'd give the one on Robert St. a try since it's right by work. Apparently they get less CDs than some of the others. Next year I think I'll just go to Southdale.

Why not just download the songs? OR even better tune into 97.1 and you can hear all these songs about 100 times in one day

Ok, I apparently have not been in MN long enough to know what this is all about, but $100 a CD? It better be like 14 hours long...

Basically Cities97 just takes popular songs that they play, invites the 'artists' in to do a live unplugged recording [one of a kind] and then sells the cd to help charity. Its only expensive in price because you can't necessarily download the songs, and there is only a limited amount of CDs each year...

Yeah, and because it's for charity it's capped at 35,000 CDs. Any higher than that and they'd have to pay royalties. They usually sell out in less than 20 minutes. I saw one going on Ebay for 150.00. It usually calms down after a day or so.
