You are probably going to want to go with an aftermarket one. if you were to swap in the stock STi one and want the Auto mode to work you are in for a heck of a lot of work. (ie swapping ABS systems, and what not). I went with the DCCDPro controller and have been very happy. For the price it is a very very solid option. Otherwise I have heard some excellent thing about the GEMs controller, but that is getting kind of spendy. http://dccdpro.com/
Yeah I've heard a lot of peaople use one called spider or something like that as well Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
DCCDPro is the one made by spiider. Clever stuff it is, too. Self contained using accelerometers and complicated mathematical algorithms instead of a cell map type of system.
There's TONS of info including install manuals and wiring info in the link Martin gave you. Don't be scurred. Click the link. It's not for penis pills or a Nigerian scam.
It was pretty easy to install. 1 wire get T-ed into the TPS signal 1 wire is switch power 1 wire is a ground 2 wires go to the transmission harness 1 wire goes to the E-brake Glue the G-sensor to the car. Done.
i got the manaual dccd controller from dccdpro.com and i like it a lot, i didnt have a bunch of money to spend so for 200 shipped i'm more than happy with it.
with the manual one its just a dial that the more u turn it the closer 2 4x4 u get rather then the stock setting?
Yes, I ran my 6 speed for several months w/o any sort of controller. Than a month or so ago I put in the DCCDPro controller. Works just fine The manual one is just the adjustment knob. It allows you direct control over the DCCD but there is not automatic mode so if you want the DCCD settings to change you need to do it manually. With the automatic controller you can set the intensity of the automatic mode and than the controller itself will determine the DCCD setting based on supplied inputs (TPS, G-forces), you can also switch to manual control as well.
