EDIT: I've found a cheap engine in Iowa, i'm picking that up to put in, hopefully it'll work out. My 1996 impreza L sedan needs an either a rebuild or a new block/engine. It was run for a few weeks without oil a year ago and then after making terrible noises it sat for a year. I have it now and it will start but sounds like all the crank and connecting rod bearings are gone if it revs above about 1200 rpms. I'm not an expert on these engines by any means but my friend who's been doing car work for 40 years says that's what it sounds like. Or if you think I could get it running easier/cheaper let me know as well. I'm open to trading the current engine to you as part of the deal, I'd have to get it out of course, and I do need the accessories. EDIT: I took a look at the stamped aluminum plate on the drivers side strut mount area, and it says EJ22E, I don't know if that helps.
