im in the market for a new shortblock for my 99rs. Anyone got a spare SOHC shortblock that they are willing to part with? I want it with less than 100,000 miles on it, and NO piston slap (reason i need a new one). If anyones got one, let me know!

I have a EJ257 shortblock. It's all opened up and at the stage where you can upgrade things, new bearings, etc. BECAUSE, if no one will buy this EJ257, then I may have to rebuild it with good stuff and run it.

It's got a few missing block halve bolts, which can be obtained from the dealer, it's got all pistons, rods, crank, rings.

Comes w/o oil pump, water pump, and pullies, which you can transfer from your block. It has a few little nicks here and there. Had Russ (WRX1) look at it as well as Brian from Minnetonka Subaru. Asking $800 or best offer.

Like said, if no one buys, then I may have to rebuild it with good stuff. Nothing to worry when I'm all done building it.

My ej207 should be here within the month, hopefully sooner. I have 98k on my motor and have had no problems, oil changed every 3k religiously. Had a new water pump, timing belt tensioner and guides, and the head gasket warranty at around 56k. I won't have a harness since Garage Tuning will be splicing mine into my new one. I would part with it for 1k and that would include a Borla wrapped header, Injen CAI, Magnecore wores (with the proper plugs so they don't pop off like everyone says they do)
