    Watch Craigslist. There was an impreza wagon on craigslist for $800 not too long ago. I think it's gone now, but there have been a few sub-$1000 impreza wagons for sale locally in the last year.

    Is there something wrong with the shell the car is in right now? Looks fine to me, or at least the equal of what $1k will get you.

    EDIT: nvm... Read the other thread. That really sucks =[
