That would be awesome. The rear spoiler is starting to chip in the corner and the top of the car is really faded. I wanna go straight black.

For the whole car? Good luck. I am having my car painted right now and its costing 1300 in just paint and supplies. Labor is a whole different story.

Yea, so far a grand is the best I've found, and that's with a hookup. California prices are MUCH better!

    Maaco....

I think they have 3 quality levels, and they're all under $1000. I'm getting my winter car resprayed for $300 then selling it. Hoping that the car will look good enough to make up for the $300.

My pops owns a body shop. I think he'd charge about 2 grand though. He's been doing it 30years and has pretty much mastered body work. Maaco will tape it and spray it but you know what they say.... buy cheap, buy twice.

Yeah i have hard estimates of around 3k for a full prep and spray job. but i know that this is one hella high quality job.

Jack got his RS sprayed for like 1k i think but he did alot of the prep work himself.

2k for the whole body? Does he actually take out all the parts and individually spray them? including the engine bay?

i just paid 2100 for my rs to get sprayed, along with putting a rear 1/4 on it, turned out nice. but i also got hooked up from the dealership. i had my 67 chevy truck painted in and out, no rust fixing, i think i have 10k in that paint

Maaco = You'll be sorry soon afterwards. You truely get what you pay for when it comes to this.

Maaco does decent paint jobs, it's all in the prep work that goes into the car before the paint. Also it depends on who does the painting too..

I've talk with some body shop paint guys and they all say that the prep job is the important part of a good paint job. A good prep job will even make crappy paint look good. I use to work next to a body shop that deals with the state trooper cars all the time.

The manager was pretty cool and all too, then he took a job @ Buerkle Honda.

I can't make a quote for you from his shop ( located in zimmerman ) but yes he takes it completely apart, strips the paint currently on the vehicle, fixes any imperfections, rust, dents etc. Then repaints. He's been doing alot of 60-70s resorations which his shop does 'frame off' which makes the cars/trucks just that much more awesome when it's done. I'm not biased or anything, but I haven't seen better work.

yeah save the money and get it done right for a full paint job
but i'd like to say i was quite impressed with the service i got at maaco for my last car when they only had to color match a door panel
of course i stopped by all the time to see the progress so that might have had something to do with it
then again maybe it was just a shop that did better work (IGH) who knows

I have Jack's car with the MACCO paint job. I mean it's pretty good, but macco doesn't sand down all the previous paint (which is why they are inexpensive) If you want, I can take some pix. Just PM what parts you want to see. Also some of the paint is cracking, I believe it's cracking because the silver paint is still under the white paint...

BTW. I used to live in ARCADIA if you know where that is...next to Pasadena haha. I mean for you it alright because you live in the cities. See how it feels living in a town that is only populated of 18k...

Yea, i've seen a few friends car painted from maaco
one had a good prep job (did it himself), paint was pretty nice for a cheap paint job
    I was impressed
the other, let maaco do the prep job and paint was ok at first, but began to come off little by little

No way--I want this paint job to last. I guess it'd be fine if I had someone to do the prep work, but I'm solo on this one!
