Well just bought dreams harness bar and am in need of some harness. Looking for a set of 4points and 3" wide. Idealy Black sparcos but if ya got anything else lemme know and i'll see if they are alright. lmk what ya got!!
I have a set of Blue 5PT Sparco Camlocks that I can no longer use. If manufacture date is not an issue let me know.
those could work. I am not sure about the manufacturer date. I will be autoxing with them next summer so i dont know if that comes into play at all?? Got any pics?
^ yea it will probably come into play, u sure u can autox with harnesses and no roll bar, cause i know u cant road race like that. and dont buy 4 points unless u wana submarine....
Autocross/Solo racing is a little bit diffrent than road racing in a full blown preped car. PM sent with link to pics. Dan
what does full blown preped car have to do with proper harness safty. like i said, im not sure or not if u can auto-x or not like that, but i know u cant use a harness with out a roll bar at most if not all HPDEs.
A lot of drivers and track safety experts at brainerd claim 4 point harnesses increase bodily injury in accidents when compared to stock safety belts. They always recommend 5 points or to remain stock. Thats from the limited experience I have copiloting in my boss' porsche race car at Brainerd Intl Raceway . I'm not saying I know anything about the matter, just that I have overheard professionals in their field bashing 4 points.
Back in Australia I have seen rally guys submarine from 4 points. It then became mandatory for all of us to use 5 points. Pilot and Navigator. Many went up in arms over the issue. Personally it made sense to me. I had started with 5 points from the start and can't see how you could use anything else.
I have two sets of black latch link 5 point harnesses for sale, 50.00 each set. Autocross has never had a date requirement and it is very common and allowed to use a harness (properly mounted) without a cage in an autocross car. The higher speeds in HPDE are the reason roll cages are required if you add harnesses. Regarding 4 vs 5 point. 4 is allowed in autocross, 5 is MUCH better. Not only is it safer, it holds you in the seat better. You would be suprised how much effort you use to hold yourself in the seat while autocrossing without good restraints. Contact me via pm if you are interested in the belts.
