Tire rack was running a great deal on Bridgestone Blizzak Revo1's. I bought a set, the price was great. Can't remember exactly what that price was, but they had a great price for 225/45/17's
This is my first set of winter tires ever. And I love them. After 3 seasons on summer tires, this is the best thing to happen to snow driving for me.
I have WS-60's as well (205/55/16's though) and I love them. They came with the car so I can't give a price comparison for you. In previous winters I ran cheaper brand winters on my FWD cars and these by far outperform them in turning and braking, can't really give you a comparison on driveability because the switch from FWD to AWD. I say go for the WS-60's.
How do they ride? I wonder how they will affect the ride stiffness, tirerack has a warning that pops up when you try to order tires different from the oem load rating
The GF has the 60's on her car and they have lots of tire roll, but most studless snow and ice tires do. Really good winter tire though.
Probably not as stiff as my car with my cushy Michelin's on it ... LOL. My suspension gets ROUGH when its cold out.
^^^ Cool, thanks Chet. You think tire rack is a good way to go? I cant find much of a discount at the local places. I think it's almost a wash as far as paying tax vs. paying shipping. IDK the all seasons are starting to lose some grip, and are of course not as good as snow tires anyway
When I buy tires local they usually throw in free mounting. If you get from tire rack you gotta pay a shop to change them out which usually costs around $100
discount had a great deal going on last week. Got a set of 4 Hankook Winter i pike w409's installed for $400 16" though. I like these tires far better then my previous two experiances with blizzaks, ws-15's and ws-50's
