Like it says I'm looking for the 3'' cat-back exhaust that SPT makes for a 02-07 wrx/sti. I know I can get it new at the dealer new but I wanted to see if there was anyone on here that was looking to sell there used system first to try and save a little cash. Let me know what you have! Thanks guys!

FYI - if the SPT exhaust is anything like my 09' SPT exhaust, it isn't a true 3" cat-back. It is more like 2 3/4" from the cat to the muffler. Then right before the muffler it switches to a 3" cat-back. Just wanted to give you a heads up. I know that I have to replace most of the pipe that I got when I do my stage 2 and turbo back exhaust.

Thanks for the heads up man. 2 3/4'' is still better then the 4'' down pipe into 3'' into stock cat-back that I have right now. Plus I need something that "looks" close to stock cuz the cops around here are dicks! I got pulled over close to once sometimes twice a week for the HKS high power I use to have on it just cuz to them it was a "fart can"....

Yeah, when I had the HKS cat-back on it. Now I don't get stopped cuz I have the stock cat-back on it. How loud the exhaust was had nothing to do with it. It was just cuz he could tell by "looking" at it that it wasn't stock. He even said it when he handed me my ticket!

You could try a TurboXS Stealthback, then you can run whatever stock location axleback you want. An STI axleback would keep things looking like factory and not hurt you at all powerwise.

Yeah I agree with Brian. It is similar to my plans for spring.

Cobb, APS and Turbo XS all make relatively stock looking axlebacks also. I have a Turbo XS catback (3" midpipe to 2.5" axleback) and it maybe a little bigger than the stock STI tip but its definitely no grape fruit cannon. Cobb and APS have full 3" kits that look close to stock also, but expect to pay more for those.

I know this about these exhaust systems guys. Thanks. Is the spt that bad of exhaust that you guys think I should go with something else? I really would like to know cuz I dont. I wanted it because it looked stock and I was with the understanding that it was 3". I love the cobb but its so damn much $!!!

Any one know anything about this stuff? It doesn't say what size it is though...

I love my SPT exhaust. I plan on keeping it on. I just wanted to let you know that it isn't 3" from the cat. This is something that no one told me when I was looking at them (even though they say 3" cat-back). So I just wanted to make sure you knew about it. I am going to keep the muffler, they have good bends in them for an exhaust. I am just going to replace the pipe inbetween the turbo and the muffler when I go stage 2 sometime in the spring. For what you are looking for I think the SPT is good. Unless you can find sometime similar for cheaper.

Cobb or Maddad ftw. Stock looking exhaust, but sounds great when you're on the gas. Also isn't retarded loud like some cheaper fart can exhausts.

Honestly, don't get too freaked out about pipe sizes. I have the SPT and love it. Nice sound, doesn't look like a pumpkin launcher and you can look the officer in the eye and say "It is an exhaust sold by Subaru." I found mine used here for a reasonable price. Haven't seen one in a while here.

Very true. I doubt that I will see a difference in mine when I upgrade, but I wanted to make sure that he knew what he was getting.
