Only need to last one winter so dont need to be in great shape, just round and able to be balanced aligned.

Will pay cash and pick up no hassles.

Email is best for me not PM-

    Thanks

Are you refering to the Venburg thread?

Those tires are too expensive for my budget. Besides Tirr rack is selling revos for 60 bucks, Venburg is asking at least twice as much.

    Thanks though....

then go on craigslist. On Friday I got a full set of blizzak ws-50 with 90% tread for 80 total!!! (from craigslist)

...and btw- the revos you're referring to on tirerack are close-outs, not the same tire Venburg is offering.

    Hey technical question...

Will 225/55-16 fit on the stock 205/55-16 rims ok?

I know its better to have narrower tires in the snow but setting that aside would this size tire fit on my stock rims and perform decently?

    Thanks

Yeah I was thinking they might be just a LITTLE bit wide for the stock rim. Id hate to find out the hard way-

Yep that would be ideal but we're talking about a used set of tires so IM limited as to whats available.

If you guys thinks its a no-go then I wont buy them.

Primarily Im worried about the 225 width fitting the stock 6.5 rim width ok.

    Has nobody tried this before?

    225's fit fine on a 7.5" rim and i've seen 255's on a 8" rim so i'd think they'd fit fine.

    whats your budget?

    Damn.

Uncle Scotty over on Nabisco says this tire will be way too tall. I could have gotten a complete set for 100.00 tall.

My budget was hopefully under 200.00. Less for an older set of good winters would be ideal.

I just might have to pop for a cheaper set of Blizzaks in Tirerack-:ugh:

I run 225/55r16 track tires on WRX wheels on my subie. they're definitely meaty tires, but I think they might fit.

that said, I've got a set of 205/55r16 GoodYear UltraGrips that were mounted on the previously mentioned WRX wheels. 2 seasons on them. I'll try to get pictures up within the next couple days. best offer......
