Sorry if this has already been posted or I am a century late, but I tried this today and almost wet myself. 1 lb thick cut applewood smoked bacon 2 c white sugar 1 heaping spoonful sriracha 2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp brewers yeast Mix all but bacon until resembles brown sugar in consistency Toss bacon in sugar mix & coat well Bake at 375 on a cookie sheet with a baking rack for about 15-20 minutes or until well browned, rotating at least one time.
lol, I was like "wtf" when I saw that listed. So I just talked to the guy who made it, and he didnt use the yeast in the batch I tried today. So if you skip that ingredient you will be just fine, as it was still the best damn piece of bacon I have ever had or imagined. (He said "it just gives it a little more meatiness") In case you'd like to try the yeast, he said he gets it in the health food department at Cub Foods.
I ran to Rainbow after work and found about 5 different yeasts, none of which were brewers yeast! Good to hear I don't need it...thanks for the recipe, will report back on how it turns out.
