03 WRX up/down, 4 eat, tuned by JM. First time ever that I actually tracked mpg on a ~400-mile road trip. Average speed was 75-80 for most of it...obviously had to slow down going through the small towns and the rainstorm of biblical proportions that I encountered on the way. I was amazed at how solid the car felt and how smooth/effortless it was to maintain that speed AND return an average MPG of a whopping 26.15 MPG. I had no idea it would be that good.

I wish my 14 3.6R outback would get that. On the high side I get 24mpg and on the low side I seen 17mpg. But I don't have a tune on it yet. I wish I would see 26mpg with my outback.

What kind of tune? I had considered quickly getting my tgv, secondary air and a few other things deleted before it was too late

I always track my mpg with my trip meter and just divide by how much I fill on the next tank. Probably not the most accurate but the last couple fill ups have been 24 and 23 respectively. I'm used to getting 17-19. Something must be wrong with my car right? Maybe coming home from the new job sitting in 30mph traffic is better than driving 80 everywhere. 02 WRX Etuned by my brother @FlatBlackIan

I got 16 mpg with my 2.5/2.0L hybrid build. What kind of mods do you have?

Back over time your mpg was pretty much standard with a tuned WRX. Maybe less if you’re dipping into 80mph. I’m doing 12-13 mpg with my E85. Have not done many road trips so not sure what I might get with lots of freeway driving.

I would get around 26-28 in my 04 wrx before I started running T6, it then dipped to 25-27, and 24-25 in the winter. I got my best milage in that car years ago on a road trip out to Colorado. Surprisingly, it was the leg from Denver to Glenwood Springs where I saw 32mpg! I thought I screwed up, but after doing the math 3 times, I came to the same conclusion. I had the cruise set to 80 pretty much the whole way, never had to downshift out of 5th during the climb, with 5-8lbs of boost. Just shows how much better turbocharged cars are in higher altitudes!

As for my 3.6, I averaged 23-24 this winter, and now I'm up around 26. If I drive 65 on a road trip, I could see close to 30 easily. The Subaru big block gets thirsty above 70 lol

4eat w/ a 20g @ 21psi in an EJ20X tuned pretty conservatively by NF. I get 20mpg puttering around town and close to 25mpg during 70-80mph road trips. Great power for pulls, great gas mileage for road trips. My untuned C5 with long tubes and x-pipe got 30mpg at 80mph coming from Michigan.

What was the tach at when cruising at 80, like 1300 rpm's or something silly like that? That's awesome!

Just a little over 2k. I get high teens/low 20s now that I'm back in MN and cruising normally lol. Top off also murders the mpgs. I get 20 cruising vs 30.

Sti injectors/fuel pump, exhaust and a "cold air" intake and really that's it.

So a stage two tune? I was getting around 24-26 when I had the 230-240hp stage two tune. The 16 that I was getting was on a hybrid build with a vf48 pushing about 19psi at around 280hp.
Something seems like it may be off there mang.
