Got the Gearsets built for the winter project Bugeye... combo of RA from an 04, new bearings, syncros & seals. Bolted the cases back together. Tomorrow I'm gonna drop the bad trans out of the car
Got the bad trans out of the car yesterday! I'm going to hold off on installing the rebuild until I can fabricate a DIY version of the Moore blast plates. I contacted the previous owner of the car and he found the paperwork he got with the car from the engine build. According to him it has forged internals, BC cams, P&P heads, DW 1500cc injectors and such... putting out close to 300 hp on an open source tune done by a shop in Iowa. With that info I'm sure the 5mt could use some support. Does anyone have a good source for some 3/16 plate?...when I lived out west I had access to anything I needed as the Manager of Farwest Steel was a fellow racer & friend. I'm going to contact ARP for longer case bolts.
