02 wrx gauge cluster light problem

I have an 02 wrx. The lights in the gauge cluster are blinking and then staying on. The hot and cold temp is completely out, before it would blink on and off. Now the speedometer is doing the same and it is staying off more. I'm thinking it's the light bulb, they are blue LED one. I was seeing if anyone on here have some time to check it out and maybe change out the gauge cluster light bulbs, I never done or if someone can walk me thru it. I can get a six pack of cold beer. PM I'm free after work.

Sounds like your bulbs are going bad. If they are led's, they are not stock and may very well be the wrong wattage or MCD rating. I would install stock bulbs and see if that helps.

4 main bulbs. They are in twist lock sockets. There are a few more that illuminate certain dash indicators like the e-brake, battery, check engine light... etc.

Yes, the stock color is a greenish hue. The stock bulbs however, are not LED's. They are just an incandescent bulb with a condom on the end. That's how they change the color.

The newer clusters (04+) used a bulb that is identical to a 194, which is easily replaceable by an LED, however yours is not. They are a twist lock style bulb, but I can't remember the number. I think it's something like a T7.
