So this will be my first winter with my 02 WRX wagon, I have wrapped the stock wheels in some fresh Blizzak WS80s. Now I am looking into getting either 17 or 18 inch wheels for summer. I have no idea where to start looking or what sizes would be good. I am pretty nooby when it comes to wheel dimensions.

I haven't done many performance mods, but my car is lowered. So what are recommendations for wheels, tires, or specific dimensions.

Anyone have experience with ambit wheels? http://www.ambitwheels.com/

I went to 18's originally, than switched back to 17's a few years back for better ride quality and to better cope with my pothole phobia. 17x7 wrapped in 225/45/17's. Our car is an 03 WRX sedan on kyb agx with prodrive springs.

I've got a set of 18's for my summer wheels on the WRX. They were used and really cheap, cuz that's how I roll. Kinda wishing I had gone 17's now just due to the fact that there are so many more options for used tires out there it seems. Just something to keep in mind if you're going at it from a thrifty approach.

Shabbaru, I wish I had that kind of disposable income for that kind of wheels, also yours are a little too wide for me. It looks like I will be going with 17s anyway. sorry

What is the offset you are running? I recently purchased a different set of wheels for the winter and found out the offset would cause some fender scrubbing, because my car is lowered a bit. That is why I had to use my stock wheels.

I just bought 17x8 +35 offset wheels for my 02 wrx and at stock height you won't rub with 235/45/17 tires but if you lower it at all you'll have to roll your rear fenders

Thanks for the help guys, and now last question, what are some good wheels that won't break the bank? I do enjoy some spirited driving, but I don't do any real racing so, I don't necessarily need racing wheels. I just need good quality ones that can take the abuse of being daily driven in the summer, and some fun drives on twisty roads.

I just bought drag dr-31's on Black Friday. I haven't heard bad things about them and I needed a nice daily wheel as well.

@chickeneatman Ill be putting my 02 wrx wagon for sale on here either a little later tonight or tomorrow after I get off work. If you want a parts car or something like that let me know. I got rear ended on the drivers side corner so its crunched there but it runs and drives fine just the alignment is a little off in the back end but the car runs and drives fine. PM me for more details if youre interested
