So I took apart the tailhousing and found the shaft for the spider gears broken in the center diff, bought what the seller said was a good center diff from an 04 wrx, installed it over the weekend and went for a test drive. The transmission shifts real nice thru all 5 gears, after about 3 miles i'm in 3rd and it sharted shuddering. Stopped for a sec to inspect lug nuts and such were tight, limped it home in first(felt like binding and a slow thunk thunk thunk all the way. Back on jack stands re checked all bolts for mounts and driveline were tight. Took it in the culdesac and drove 20 or so circles in each direction and nothing. Back out for a test going straight it started again... I'm stumped... any ideas?
