If any one see a silver 03 wrx,wrx spoiler,Seibon hood that looks like cwest style, tinted windows, 1 silver and 3 black wrx rims please give me a call : 651-263-9919 or Beat them down. Cause it's my cousin's car that got stolen this morning.. John
Yea no luck and every car that were park on the street last night are still there in the morning. Only his car was missing.
I was going to say the same thing. Damn, that sux, I'll definatly keep my eye out. Check Craigslist too for the cars parts to come up for sale. We caught a guy that stole a buddies honda in chicago that way.
yeah, i read the first post and realized it too... hopefully they find it, i will keep my eyes out once i get back to the cities as well
Ok the cop found it and 2 guys driving it around VH. So hopelly no other damage done to the car. Thanks everyone.
I don't think it would be all that hard to steal a Subaru with the alarm on *winks at Bilknutz* but really what does it take to steal a car? Glad it has been found so quickly hopefully the most they did was beat on it a bit.
I think that the fact that a bug-eye with 100-120k on it can be had under 8k is going to definitely hurt the insurance rates on these cars more than theft. Scenario ... mommy and daddy buy 16 y/o punk ass kid a wrx cause he points out its safe and practical being awd and a five star car. He wrecks it a month later cause he was over driving it. My .02
That is awesome. I'm so glad you guys got the car back, but I'm even more excited that it sounds like the little rats got caught. I love it when D-Bags get whats comin.
Does the WRX not have an immobilizer? When did it get one? If it did, there must be a pretty esasy way to get around it, because thieves dumb enough to get caught joyriding don't have the good meathods (also, tow trucks)
06? maybe 05... 04 sti didn't have one iirc... they got those baller STi keys. Glad to hear it was found quickly, John!
I was knocking some ice off the headlight on the 08 this morning. The alarm went off. I didn't even hit it very hard. I'm glad to know that it works. Oh, sorry to hear about the car. Glad the found it. Hopefully nothing is damaged or parts missing.
Thank goodness they found it. Chong would've been pissed all weekend. John, if you ain't doing anything, we start drinking early today.
2005 was the first year of the immobilizer, but not all of them got it. IIRC the Legacy GT/Outbacks and STI's were the first. I can't remember if the WRX got them that year or not. I don't think they did. As far as stealing Subarus, it's been going on for a while. They're fairly easy to break into (all you need is a coathanger for anything before 2008) and there are more and more out there. Sometimes they're looking for the car, sometimes it's just in the wrong place at the wrong time. <-----Had one of his Subarus stolen almost 6 years ago.
Wow you guys im glad to hear this! Also when are you two getting that stupid hood out of my garage???
This is one reason i want an enclosed trailer and to put up with the couple mpg loss when towing. my open is fine for going to BIR where i'll be camping next to my car but at a hotel or something when down for a fun weekend in the cities or at an out of state track... itd be a nice peace of mind having it all locked up inside and then back the trailer doors up to something so it cant be opened. Happy to hear it was recovered. Any damage?
