03 wrx struts/springs in 99RS

Does anyone know what it would take to put 03 wrx struts/springs into a 99rs? from what I heard you have to use the rs tophats, any thing else I should know before I get them?

I looked for some info, but I didn't find the thread on nasioc I was looking for. There was a good thread on nasioc that had pictures of all the years with the different tophats / spring perches.

I'm 99% sure the front struts will fit fine, the top hats should be the same.

I'm also 99% sure the rear top hats will not fit. I _think_ the 03 rears have the top hat separate from the spring perch, so you might be able to use the '99 top hat with the 03 perch, but I'm not sure if there's some modification involved.

 

the fronts are direct bolt ons. the rears you have to use your rear top hats on the impreza strut/spring.
