04/05 sti turbos

    Do all sti turbos have the vf39 stamp??

    For the 04 05 they should be VF39s

    i was checkin out an 05 sti and it doesn't have the vf39 stamp on it...does that mean it's not the stock turbo?? everything else looks similar to the vf39 though...

    I guess I don't know about the stamp. Where are you looking at this car?

    If I remember correctly, the stamp is on the compressor housing, and I don't think it would be easy to see with the turbo on the car. I also wonder what the story is on the car, that would help.

    i have an 06 sti so ive seen the stamp on the turbo...this 05 sti has the turbo where you can see the flat spot where the stamp is suppose to be but there was no stamp but it does have the IHI TURBO on it...the car is also located in chicago and owned by a girl so she doesn't know anything about the car...

    my only concern is does some sti turbos come w/ no stamp??

    Are you sure you are looking at the right flat spot? There are two flat spots, one is easy to see, the other is difficult to see (with the turbo on the car). Here, look at this pic for reference:
