Just lost 3rd on my XT, long shot but hoping somebody has one laying around or maybe a 6spd swap for a decent price? It’s an 04 it was swapped to a manual buy Subaru surgeons years ago.

How does one tell what gear ratio you need or currently have? I've got a bugeye wagon parts car with a 5 spd in it that I don't plan to use. If you tell me what to look for I can check it out.

what year bug eye? I know the early 5 speeds are glass but at this point it just might work. I’ll do some digging and see what I actually need.

Glass if you drive like an ass. Haha. I've got 230k on my stock one with no issues.

I'll check when I get home, tho.

Ha I had to rebuild my 03 with RA gears… how do you think I lost 3rd in an XT? I shouldn’t be allowed to have boost.

As far as I’ve found it should work. Just a shorter final drive but whatever, it was supposed to be a daily.

MIGHT be ordering a Rallispec gear set so if it’s still in the car don’t pull it just yet

It's still in the car, which would take a bit of effort to get into the garage. Definitely won't be touching it unless you were interested. Haha. No worries!

Ha it’s definitely good to know where ones at though considering my skill in exploding them.

It comes in quite handy sometimes just having piles of parts (cars) sitting around.

Bugeye trans would have the male splines sticking out I think the 04 would be with the splines on the axle? I could be wrong though.

Yeah you’re right. I got the rallispec gear set in and well now I have bigger issues car cranks but won’t start. It was originally an auto but who knows at this point.
