    I'm possibly looking into getting a new car in a month or two. I love the RS but I'm spending way too much on goodies for it and I'd like a car that's just done that I don't need to make any faster. I know the STI's scream but I'm just wondering if the new Legacy GT is going to be a whole lot faster than an RS with some work done to it(probably a dumb concern with the same engine plus a turbo but isn't the legacy a bigger car?). I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a car that isn't that much faster than what I already have so I'm hoping someone on here maybe has one and can give some feedback. Not to mention the Legacy is about 5k cheaper even with leather and a moonroof which you can't have on the STI. It hurts not being able to get a 6speed in the Legacy but that's kind of how it goes I guess. I've seen a couple of those new Legacy GT's on the street with the dual exhaust and man those look nice. So for 5 grand extra you get a car that doesn't look as nice has crappier interior but will whomp the other one and almost anything on the road. I'm torn. Any feedback is appreciated! Also if I get the Legacy there's a kit by Gialla I think is the company name....anyone know who carries their stuff(that kit looks awesome on the black gt's)?

    I have driven the 05 Legacy GT and I own an 04 STi. It comes down to this for me, do you want a cool cruiser with some street cred (Legacy) or do you want one of the ulimate street weapons (STi).

    I think they are both great cars, it is just a matter of what you want.

    BTW, the 05 Legacy IS faster than any stock RS. I am guessing it will be significantly faster than your RS but that is just a guess.

    Well if i have the cash i'll get then both, but it up to you. As for me the legacy is a family car and the STI is a street weapons just like Mayhen said. Both are vary nice car and I don't mind getting one of them, but for now I'm waiting and see if the Legacy STI ever come over.

    I have driven both cars and I will have to say I agree with Mark

    STI= weapon

    Leg= comfort

    Selling your RS? Hum more info

    The new legacy do look amazingly nice, leather interior is always nice. But for me i would gladly trade in dual exhaust, leather, and a smooth ride for a 300hp BEAST!

    you could just replace the STi seats with teh leather legacy ones

    Personally I'd get the Legacy GT Wagon. Mod it past 300 Hp (shouldn't be all that tough, right?), stiffen up the suspension a little, install thicker front and rear anti-sway bars, get some decent tires (I think the STi is the only subie that comes with good tires :-p).

    Of course, I'm the family man.. so the size and a bit of comfort isn't that bad. Legacy GT just has too soft a suspension and too crappy tires stock.

    Don't forget the sleeper effect. who is going to think about a leggy that hauls ass? I would go with the leg and make a nice little sleeper out of it.

    I can't imagine there is anything you could possibly do to a 2.5RS to make it as nice and as powerful as the new Legacy. That's not a dig on the 2.5RS, btw.

    My buddy has a legacy wagon ( told him to register here) we took my WRX and his wagon out for a ride, and the cars are dead even, in just about everything, his is an auto, mine's a stick, but we ran them up to around 120 ish no one was gaining, totally dead even, I've never seen 2 cars closer. Handling wise I can't totally say, but my car was brand new (to me) and I didn't push it super hard in the turns (doing 35 mph turns around 70 mph) and he was able to pull away from me in turns, with out doubt he was driving much hard than I, but the suspension has to be very close too.

    Now if you really want to compare a STI with a legacy GT, I don't think there is a whole lot of comparison. The STI would hands down win in everything but comfort, and I doubt it by much.

    I drove a Legacy GT and WRX back to back.. Both were manual.. the Legacy GT felt quicker, and the WRX handled much better. I since have driven the legacy GT automatic, and it felt slow. I need to go drive a manual GT again.. it was a blast!

    With the Legacy I love the sleeper idea but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want that kit from Japan :cool: If someone can post a pic for me I can e-mail it to whoever in case anyone hasn't seen that kit from the rs25.com board.

    Just for the record Yia has dibs in the event that I will be selling off the RS. But for everyone else the mods are listed in my signature with the exception of the body colored sidebars and a bunch of stereo equipment(kenwood excelon deck, 4infinti kappa 6.5"s(1yr of service plan still left from this month on the kappas :D), 2 Alpine V12 amps- 1 for inside speakers 1 for subs, two pioneer 10" subs, custom box, all monster cabled. The car by the time I'm ready to sell it will have a brand new clutch, brand new brakes(front and rear rotors and pads), new goodyears as of last summer, and a tranny with only 50k on it. The car itself is an 01 4 door silver with 5speed. It has been my traveling/work car for 2+ years and has 140k on it. I bought it in AZ with the mileage ending up around 25k by the time I got home with it. I'm still in the process of trying to figure out what this thing is worth...I'm sure not crap for trade-in. I'm hoping to find the right person that will take everything so I don't have to piece it out. I'd throw in the subaru bra for it also and all the old stock parts I've replaced minus the old clutch(believe me, I have every single screw, washer, gasket, and even an old k and n filter for it also). There is some damage on the bumper from the deer collision and just a couple minor door dings(no paint damage on those) and the interior has been smoked in and is probably in "good" condition I would say. The private party kbb for my car is 8200 with the mileage even which baffles me but I've heard from some other people the GC8's are actually worth more than book price. Anybody interested or who could more accurately assist me in finding the value of this thing, I'd love to hear from you!

    Thanks for finding a better pic of the black Gialla, Yia. That right there is a sexy machine :p I think the black is probably the winner with that kit...I do like the red silver and white though too. That car looks good in pretty much every color they make it in :cool:
