Okay so about 2 months ago my 05 lgt started making a weird constant wail almost similar to bad tires and at the time I had very badly worn tires so I assumed it was that. Now though after putting near new tires on it it continues. I know it's the drivers front after putting it on a lift and running it. The noise was obvious from where it was coming from. Also when I turn right it's silent. Some have said I should check the hub assembly with a stethoscope to listen to see if there's a distinct noise any thoughts?

When was the last time you had a wheel alignment?

Just got new wheels and tires it's off a 2014 wrx so there wider and a little taller. And is there any way to check if it's the wheel bearing? There's no play in the wheels when it's up on a lift but I know that dosent neasaisarly mean it's bad

This. On a lift, dissable traction control, if any. Then run the car at 50-60 MPH, and listen to each bearing with a stethescope. You can narrow it down if you "swerve" within your own lane going highway speeds, and see if it gets louder and quiter depending on which side of the suspension is loaded.

sounds like a wheel bearing. I've replaced 2 on my 05 LGT. They aren't too hard to do.

Since it goes away turning right I can tell you that you need a right front wheel bearing.

In Subarus the bearings do not get loose for a long time. What happens is the grease dries up and the bearings start pitting which then causes the noise. If let alone long enough it will start to get worn.
