My brand new car is already making a funny sputtering noise that sounds like its coming from under the dash. Its faint and repetitive. At first I thought it was static from the door speaker, but it makes the noise even with the stereo off. The car drives and rides fine, but for the life of me I can't figure out what is causeing the noise. Has anyone every heard of this before? It doesn't seem to be threatening performance wise, but it is derinitly annoying, especialy because its brand new. :???:
Since your car is brand new, everything should be under warranty I'd take it to the dealership from where you bought it and do a "noise complaint"
Yeah, I've tried it with everything off, the noise is really random and I can't figure out what activates it. Last weekend when I was remapping the ECU with my new cobb AP I could have sworn the noise was comming out of the speaker, but even with the stereo on or off the sputtering is heard. I think I might have the dealer look at it if I can get the time off work.
Maybe your car is connected to the other dimension through the speakers. Demons? :ugh: Have it checked at the dealership. They should tighten up what's loose under there. My shifter rattles a bit over 65 MPH because I have the Cobb Tuning dual adjustable short shifter which is a bit thinner. The metal ring under the shift knob rattles against it like crazy and I hate it, but it's something I cannot fix under warranty because I caused it with the aftermarket part. But you'll be fine if it isn't related to something you've tweaked with.
I'll try and listen around the shifter next time it happens. What is wastegate flutter sound like? ^^ I'm going to head to the dealer when I can and if they can't help me I'll try an exorsist next:eek2:
Bring it in and lets take a look at it...I'm also curious to see what that sound is. I'll be on vaca. thursday tho until 7/10
Sounds good. I'll get a hold of you when you get back. I might have to stop in twice though, the sound comes and goes and of course it will probably won't make the noise when I have someone else look at it...
